GIRLFRIEND STABBED HER BOYFRIEND TO DEATH

In a tragic turn of events, a woman is accused of stabbing her boyfriend to death during a domestic dispute late Saturday night. According to authorities, the incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. March 9 when police responded to a report of a stabbing at a residence in Lilydale Trust.

South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson, Col. Donald Mdhuhli, explained that upon arrival, officers were alerted to the suspect by a family member who identified her as the perpetrator.

According to preliminary reports, the couple was involved in a heated argument at the house during which the victim was allegedly partially undressed when the suspect allegedly grabbed a knife and stabbed her boyfriend three times in the heart.

The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. Mikateko Mabuye was immediately arrested and appeared in court on Monday, March 11, where she was charged with murder.

The suspect has been remanded in custody, with her next court appearance scheduled for March 18th, where she is expected to make a formal bail application. Investigations into the case are ongoing.

Notably, sources indicate that this was not the first instance of alleged violence in the relationship. Mabuye had previously been accused of pouring hot water on the victim’s private area and dragging him, after which she reportedly surrendered herself to the authorities.
