LIMPOPO TEEN BOY AGED 12 RAPES A 3-YEAR-OLD GIRL

A 12-year-old boy has allegedly raped a 3-year-old child in Limpopo (Thohoyandou) on the 12 December 2023.

According to Limpopo Police Spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, the victim went with other children to play at the suspect’s house and later when she returned home, her mother suspected foul play. She then took her to the local medical center and that’s when it was confirmed the victim was raped.

Colonel Malesela Ledwaba says that thw police were called and a case of rape was opened.

Malesela Ledwaba further says the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit launched an investigation which revealed that the victim was raped by the 12-year-old boy.

Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe says that there is an increase in the sexualization of children and they fall victim to abuse perpetrated by adults and children themselves.
