Daniel Brothers, Msiphana’s trailblazing Afro-Soul duo

You look at Jeff Maluleke, Clive S and Cool B who have taken the Xitsonga RNB music and they are running with it. Then you have Henny C who is using his unique soulful voice to give his fans exciting music, mixing both Afro-Soul/RNB. Both these Afro-Soul/Xitsonga RNB singers are making strides in the Music Industry.

Not outshined, Daniel Bothers are also known for dishing out good quality music. Daniel Bothers is made up on two homeboys, a 26 years old Fikile Clement Ngobeni (Flex) and a 32 years old Ntwanano Mhlongo (Ntwaa). They both hail from Msiphana Village under N’wamitwa Traditional Authority outside Tzaneen in the Limpopo.

The duo started making music in 2014; they were known as “Ntwaa na Nice” and then changed to Daniel Brothers in 2015. The name Daniel Brothers came to mind as their fathers share the same name and it’s something unique and catchy.

Like any other artist in South Africa, Daniel Brothers’ most challenging part in the Music Industry is Piracy. Piracy takes away from the artist’s hard work, and it has a potential to destroy the entire industry.

They draw inspiration from other successful artists who sing similar music to theirs, giants like Mr. Bow, Davido, Mafikizolo, Harmonize and Nathi among others.

The duo’s relevance in the industry is about being innovative; they always add new sounds and flavours to their music. They are N’wamitwa’s trend-setters without a doubt. If they remain relevant, their music can take them very far, they are taking a leaf from Dr Thomas Hasani Chauke’s journey about longevity. Besides singing for the group, Ntwanano is a producer and a sound engineer while Fikile is a photographer and a radio presenter.

“Our message is that achieving your goals, becoming successful and maintaining relevance is a difficult task and therefore entrepreneurs must remain grounded, focused and keep learning new ways of doing business every day. Our fans can expect a new hot album coming out at the end of March 2019 titled “Elevated”. The album has 14 hot tracks and features other talented artists from South Africa, Tanzania, Malawi and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

We are a duo of Afro-Soul/RNB, emulating the likes of Boys 2 Men, Jaziel Brothers and P-Square just to mention a few. Our music is predominantly love songs sung in our native Xitsonga language. For more information and bookings, please contact our manager, Mr. Steven Makhongela at smakhongela@gmail.com”, they conclude.

Daniel Brothers’ mission is to become the first Afro-Soul/RNB group to come from Tzaneen and represent Limpopo including the country at International level. During their career, they have enjoyed nominations at the #SATMAS13 for “BEST AFRO SOUL” category alongside Candy Tsamandebele, Afrotraction and Abantwana. They’ve also scored nominations and winning awards at SABC Munghana Lonene FM Xitsonga Music Awards (Best Newcomer, Best Xitsonga RNB and Best Afro Soul).
