Mavabaza Primary School in Joppie Village in Ward 06 of the Greater Tzaneen Municipality came alive today as learners, educators, and community leaders gathered for the Inter-Provincial Back to School Campaign.

The campaign, led by South African Police Service supported by the SA Hope Foundation and other sponsors including Gija Security and Blue Ribbon, delivered 1,011 full sets of school uniforms and sanitary towels to Mavabaza Primary and Tiakeni Secondary School.
The event was graced by the presence of Limpopo Provincial Commissioner Thembi Hadebe, Gauteng Provincial Commissioner Tommy Mthombeni, and District Director Phillipine Modika. Commissioner Hadebe commended Mthombeni for his dedication to giving back to communities and urged learners to prioritise education.

“The future we build today is the future we will have tomorrow,” she said, calling on parents to support their children’s educational journey.
District Director Modika pledged a 100% pass rate from the two schools this year, adding that efforts will be made to align school subjects with university admission requirements and job market needs.

Learners were visibly excited. Xivono Ndlovu from Mavabaza thanked the leadership for their generosity, while Vukona Baloyi of Tiakeni High expressed gratitude to the SAPS for their continued support in ensuring school safety.
A total of 572 learners from Mavabaza and 439 from Tiakeni received full uniform sets, including shirts, skirts, pants, socks, shoes, jerseys, ties, and school dresses. Projectors will also be donated to both schools to enhance teaching and learning.
