A 21-YEAR-OLD MAN MURDERED

The police in Namakgale near Phalaborwa are investigating a case of murder following the death of a 21-year-old man at Buffer Zone, in Namakgale, Mopani District, on Tuesday 26, March 2024 at about 13:10.

The Police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba says it is reported that the police received a complaint about a male person who had been attacked by members of the community at Buffer Zone area. Upon arrival at the scene, they discovered a male person lying along the street with severe injuries.

Furthermore Ledwaba says allegedly that the victim was assaulted by members of the community, who accused him of stealing their property in the area.

The emergency Medical personnel were called to the scene, and the victim was taken to the closest hospital; unfortunately, he later succumbed to his injuries.

The police opened a murder case, and a manhunt for the suspects was launched.

Ledwaba says the deceased was identified as Kgashane Malatji (21) residing at Mashishimale village.

The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has condemned the mob justice incident. She further encouraged the Community to assist police with information that can lead to the arrest of suspects .

The police are appealing to anyone with information that can assist with the apprehension of the suspects to contact the Branch Commander Lieutenant Colonel Condry Mathebula on 082 469 1240, crime stop number 08600 10111, nearest police station, share information on MySAPSApp.

Police investigations are still continuing.
