A 15 YEAR-OLD LIMPOPO GIRL RAPED WHILE COMING FROM CHURCH

A 23 year-old male suspect apprehended in connection with an alleged rape of a 15 year-old girl was was allegedly raped by a man aged 23 on Friday 22 March 2024 in Limpopo (Namakgale) while coming from Church service.

Limpopo Police Spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba says that the suspect was remanded in police custody and his case was postponed to Friday 05 April 2024 for bail application and further police investigations.

Limpopo Police Spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba says that the victim alleged that she was coming from a church service intending to take a minibus to her residence at Longhomes Section. While waiting for transport at R71 entrance to Namakgale, the suspect arrived driving a Toyota Avanza motor vehicle and stopped next to the victim.

Spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba says that a 23 year-old male reportedly offered to transport the victim to her residence because he was going to see his friend who stays next to the victim’s home and she agreed.

Malesela Ledwaba says that the duo departed and while on the way, the suspect requested to withdraw money from a bank at a local complex.

Hs says that afterward, the suspect gave a lift to another woman and proceeded with the journey but passed Longhomes’ residence and went to drop the woman and promised to take the victim home afterwards.

He further says that unfortunately, the suspect did not take her home but drove to his residence at Mandela Zone D and upon arrival a 15 year-old girl was forcefully taken to the house and subsequently raped by the suspect.
