MAKOTI FUEL STATION EMPLOYEE ROBBED WHILE GOING TO DEPOSIT MONEY IN TZANEEN

The South African Police Service in Tzaneen investigates cases of attempted murder and armed robbery after a male employee of Makoti Filling station was robbed while Tzaneen near FNB on Thursday 14 December 2023 at about 08:45.

According to the Tzaneen SAPS communications officer Sergeant Maurice Nkhwashu, it is alleged that a 63 year old male victim employed at Makoti fuel station went to Tzaneen to deposit money into the bank, while he was walking on the pavement near FNB bank in Tzaneen an unknown African male came straight towards him pointing him with a firearm and robbed him of an undisclosed amount of money.

Soon after that he heard a sound of a gun then realized that he sustained a gunshot wound on the left ankle.

The suspect got into a white Mazda 6 vehicle with a false registration number FBH 158 L and fled the scene.

The victim was transported to the nearest hospital.

A case of of attempted murder and armed robbery was opened in the Tzaneen police station for further investigation.
