A BODY OF A MISSING SHEPHERD WAS FOUND WITH STAB WOUNDS IN THE BUSHES

The South African Police Service in Botlokwa outside Polokwane in Capricorn district have launched a manhunt after the body of a 55 year old shepherd who went missing on 14 October 2023 was found with multiple stab wounds in the bushes

The gruesome discovery was made a day after he was reported missing at Makgato village.

According to the police reports, the deceased Edward Morokolo left in the morning heading cattle to the gracing field but never returned home.

The police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba confirmed that this matter was reported to the police the following day ( Saturday 15) and consequently a missing case was opened. Police immediately started with the search operation joined by community members.

Subsequently, the victim’s body was found on Monday afternoon, 16 October with multiple stab wounds in the grazing field and his cellphone was still in his possession.

The motive of the killing is unknown at this stage and the Police’ are investigating circumstances surrounding the incident.

Ledwaba says anyone with information that can assist to arrest the suspects responsible for the murder is urged to contact the Investigating Officer Captain Motlatso Ngoetjana at 082 718 9781. Alternatively, report to the nearest Police Station or to SAPS Crime Stop at 08600 10111 and share tips anonymously on MySAPSApp.

Police investigations are continuing.
