Security guard appeared in court for shooting her colleague at Xihoko Village





A 49-year-old Security Guard who was stationed at Xihoko Clinic outside Tzaneen appeared before Ritavi Magistrate Court for shooting her colleague repeatedly. The woman was arrested on Thursday 06th August 2020 after she allegedly shot her colleague several times.

The security guard has appeared before the Ritavi magistrate court on Friday, 07 August 2020 where she was denied bail. Her case was postponed until 14 August 2020 for further police investigation.




The two colleagues reportedly had an argument on the 6th of August 2020 while at work. The other colleague allegedly produced her work pistol and shot her colleague multiple times before fleeing the scene.

The South African Police Services team says the victim was on duty with the suspect at their working place premises when the suspect allegedly shot the victim several times before fleeing the scene.




“The suspect was then tracked down and was found hiding at her boyfriend’s place where she was arrested. The suspect was still dressed in her work uniform when she was arrested and the firearm believed to be the one used to shoot the victim was also confiscated. The motive for the incident is not yet known and police are still continuing with the investigations”, added Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo.
