Xitsonga Gospel Music Awards were formed in response to the challenges faced by the Xitsonga marginalized Gospel musicians who are lacking platforms and privilege of marketing, developing and promoting their talents. The Awards’ main objective is to develop and nature raw Xitsonga Gospel talent and to provide consistent platform for showcasing their musical talents.

This year marks the 1st Inaugural Awards and will be hosted annually. All artists who were interested in the competition were requested to complete nomination forms which ran from 13 until 30 July 2019. The final nominee gala announcement was made on the 3rd August 2019 at Vahlave Guest House in Kremetart, Giyani.

Artists who will grace the event includes: Worship House, Sipho Ngwenya, Taki Ndou, Sipho Makhabane, Jabu Hlongwane, Pastor Lungi Ndala, James Shimange, Mercy Manqele, Ndivuwo Matumba, Go Explo, Tiyiselani Mnisi, Themba Nyathi, Tsakani Khani and Xolani Wale Acornhoek (MC) among others.

We also arranged Kruger National Park packages for those who want to enjoy wildlife and game rides just less than 100km to the Phalaborwa Gate and 75km to Pafuri Gate.

“Our message to our people is that as Vatsonga, let’s pride ourselves with these Gospel Awards by buying tickets to support our very own Xitsonga Gospel Artists at Shoprite and Computicket, General is R150 and VIP is R400 inclusive of refreshments.

“We have already started with Churches Roadshows around Giyani, Malamulele, Elim, Tzaneen and Phalaborwa to bring awareness about these awards and ask Pastors to pray for a successful event; we ask for their support by asking their respective congregations to buy tickets.
