TWO MALE SUSPECTS ARRESTED FOR CHARGES INCLUDING POSSESSION OF CHILD PORN MATERIALS AND POSSESSION OF AMMUNITION

Two suspects aged 23 and 52 were arrested for possession of child pornographic material and possession of ammunition among other charges.

Suspects who are staying at the same farm were arrested separately in Polokwane Cycad centre and Roodeport farm outside Polokwane,on Tuesday, 27 February 2024.

According to information Members of SAPS National and Limpopo Provincial Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences dealing with Serial and Electronic Crime Investigations were alerted about the suspect who was in possession of child porn material.

Information was swiftly followed up, and operationalised by FCS members from National and Limpopo joined by Polokwane K9, Tactical Response Team, Provincial Flash and Provincial Corporate Communication.

During the operation, the suspect aged 52 was arrested for possession of child porn material at Cycad Shopping Centre parking lot at around 08:00 in the morning. The team proceeded to his residence to collect more evidence. On arrival, they searched the premises where he stay with his family.

A 23-year-old was found in possession of ammunition in his room. He was also arrested. They then recovered 52: ammunition of rifle, 04: shotgun rounds, empty cartridges, propellant power, panga and knives amongst other items.

The Provincial Commissioner of the Police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, gave the team a praiseworthy messages as she appreciated their efforts which led to the arrest of the suspects.

They will appear before Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 29 February 2024.

The Police investigation is continuing.
