39-YEAR-OLD MAN HANDED 25 YEARS FOR RAPING MINOR CHILD

The Thabazimbi Regional Court had on Monday, 26 February 2024, handed down twenty five years (25) imprisonment sentence to a 39-year-old male accused, who raped a 14-year-old during April 2021.

During the Court trial, it was found that on 11 April 2021, the accused raped the victim who was known to her and a passerby eye witness, notified the Police regarding the incident.

A case of rape was opened, they traced the suspect and arrested him.

The case was investigated by Warrant Officer Daniel Lotter of Thabazimbi Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences unit.

The accused Nelson Kabelo Sediroa (39) was found guilty and sentenced to twenty five years imprisonment.

The Provincial Commissioner of Limpopo SAPS Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has welcomed the sentencing and lauded investigating officer and his team for the job well done.
