The Groblersdal Regional court also ordered the sentences to run concurrently and declared the accused unfit to possess a firearm.

The Court noted that on 04 December 2023 at about 00:30, a 64 year-old victim was at home sleeping with her boyfriend when she heard a window breaking and Abram Tobani Makubela suddenly entered her bedroom at Donkey-Stop village under Zaaiplaas policing area.

The accused demanded money and told the victim that he saw her buying liquor at a local tavern. She told him that the money is under a table cloth and he searched for it and found a axe under the bed.

Abram instructed the boyfriend of a 64 year-old victim to cover his face with a pillow and raped her. Following the rape ordeal, the accused took an amount of R200-00 and they went to another house inside the yard and also took a handbag with R1500-00 in cash and immediately fled the scene on foot.
