A 35 YEAR-OLD MAN STABBED TO DEATH

The South African Police Service in Sebayeng under Capricorn District have arrested a 30 year-old male suspect in connection with the brutal murder of a 35 year-old male victim believed to be the boyfriend of his ex-girlfriend on Monday 14 October 2024 at about 03:00 in Makotopong, Mokwasele village.




The police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba says the Police received a complaint about two males who were busy fighting in the area and allegedly stabbed each other and rushed to the vicinity. Upon arrival they found a 35 year-old male victim lying on the ground with multiple stab wounds on the upper body.

The members of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were summoned at the scene but declared the victim dead on their arrival at the scene.



Ledwaba says the police preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased was at his residence when a 30 year-old male suspect approached him and started to argue with him over his ex-girlfriend.

“The duo started to fight and the suspect took out a sharp object and stabbed the victim on the upper body and later fled the scene on foot afterward. An immediate manhunt of the suspect was launched and he was subsequently apprehended the same day while trying to flee from his residence in Sebayeng location.” Said Colonel Malesela Ledwaba




The suspect is currently admitted at a hospital under police guard after he sustained injuries during the fight with the deceased.

A 30 year-old male suspect will appear at Mankweng Magistrate court in absentia facing a charge of murder on Wednesday 16 October 2024.
