In a shocking turn of events on Tuesday 06 March, Pastor Paseka “Mboro” Motsoeneng’s church in Katlehong has been set alight, following his arrest earlier today after a violent school incident which happened yesterday in Katlehong Primary school.
The controversial pastor was detained after being seen wielding a panga at Matsediso Primary School in Katlehong North on Monday.
The incident unfolded when Mboro reportedly stormed the school, claiming he was there to rescue his son, who was allegedly being attacked by teachers and community members.
According to Mboro, his son had gone to the school to pick up his children, over whom he is currently fighting for custody. However, he was denied access by some school staff, escalating the situation.
A video circulating on social media shows Mboro’s son with a visibly bruised eye, which he claims was inflicted by the teachers and community members during the altercation.
The pastor, accompanied by his bodyguards, allegedly forced entry into the school to protect his son from what he described as a violent assault.
Mboro has been vocal about his son’s struggle to gain custody of his children following the passing of their mother. He insists that the children would be better off in the care of their father and himself, as he is financially capable of providing for them.
The fire at Mboro’s church is believed to be linked to the controversy surrounding the school incident, though details are still emerging. The church, a pillar in the community, has suffered significant damage, and investigations are underway to determine the cause of the blaze.
As tensions rise, the situation has sparked widespread debate, with many questioning the actions of both Mboro and the involved school staff. The pastor remains in custody as authorities continue to investigate the circumstances leading to his arrest and the subsequent arson.
