Who Is DJ Kobyo From Mzansi Magic’s Queen Modjadji Series

Dj Kobyo, known to his parents as McCabe Seabela, born and bred at Dan village outside Tzaneen.

His abilities were discovered and honed at church. In 1991, McCabe joined the male church choir which had a drama divison as well.

When an opportunity to be with the drama team presented itself in 1993, I definitely took it and ran with it.

It is within me, I bring life to any character given to me, regardless of whether it’s a supporting or lead Actor. I would add my humour and my comic side.

In 2006, i took a leap of faith and created a stage drama, which did not go as far as I planned due to limited resources. However the experience gained from that project is something I will cherish for a lifetime.

They say tough times don’t last forever, but tough people do. My sophomore project was a Comedy drama in 2013, it was recorded on compact discs and selling them on the streets for R10. With the experience gained from the firsr project, my marketing strategy was a little bit advanced however piracy was my biggest enemy.

With my undying creative spirit I had to look at other avenues to showcase our content. And with the world moving to 4IR we took a decision to upload our content on YouTube. The channel has now gained momentum with a community of subscribers.

Comedy for me is a calling, I am able to tackle serious issues in a more relatable manner which heals people. It is something that keeps me awake at night and if I can save a life or two at a time, my purpose on earth will be fulfilled.

I have since established a comedy developmental programme named Gape le Gape, I host it at various establishments and give platform to upcoming Comedians to showcase their talents. I believe it is our duty to pass the baton to the next generations.” Concludes Dj Kobyo.

McCabe Seabela has recently landed a coveted role in the Mzansi Magic series “Queen Modjadji.” His new role in “Queen Modjadji” marks a significant milestone in his career, showcasing his versatility and expanding his repertoire beyond social media comedy.

The “Queen Modjadji” series brings to life the epic tale of the legendary Balobedu rainmaker, the first Queen Modjadji, whose lineage has ruled Southern Africa’s Lobedu clan for centuries.
