A 29-YEAR-OLD MALE SUSPECT STABBED HIS ELDER BROTHER TO DEATH

A 29-year-old male suspect was arrested after he handed himself to the Police on Monday, 08 July 2024, for stabbing his 40 year old elder brother to death.




This is after two siblings had a heated argument on Sunday, 07 July 2024, at around 06:00 in the morning, at Mokamole in Makekeng village, at Tinmyne policing area

According to information, the elder brother arrived home in the morning and knocked at the locked door. His younger brother (suspect) opened the door for him. It is alleged that the elder brother slapped the suspect, as he apparently took long to open the door.



The brothers then engaged in a heated conversation whereby, in the process, the elder brother was stabbed with a sharp instrument. Their mother went to separate them, but already, the victim was stabbed and bleeding. They quickly rushed him to the local hospital, but unfortunately, he later succumbed to his injuries.

The Police were notified about the incident. They arrived at the scene and opened a case of murder. The suspect had already fled.




The following day, the suspect handed himself to the Police in Tinmyne. He was charged with murder and he will be appearing before Mahwelereng Magistrate’s Court.

The Police investigations are continuing.
