A 38-Year-Old Man Killed

Sekhukhune police have arrested three male suspects between the ages of 39 and 40 in connection with the murder of a 38-year-old man at Ga Maila Segolo, in Sekhukhune District on Tuesday 25 June 2024 at about 01:30.

According to the information, the victim and brother had an altercation during the day, after which the brother left to summon other relatives (cousins). The victim was asleep when they returned. They entered his room, dragged him outside the room, assaulted him with sticks, stones, bricks, and bottles, took him back to his bedroom, and covered him with blankets. The suspects then fled the scene.

The father of the victim after witnessing the incident, proceeded to the neighbors for assistance.

Emergency Medical Personnel Service was called and the victim was certified dead at the scene.

The motive behind the incident is unknown at this stage. Domestic violence cannot be ruled out.

The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, condemned the incident and called upon families to get professional help when experiencing domestic challenges, rather than resorting to violence.

The trio will appear before Sekhukhune Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 27 June 2024, on charges of murder.

Police investigations continue.
