A 17-YEAR-OLD GIRL RAPED IN JANE FURSE

Lebowakgomo FCS (Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offenses) Unit, has launched manhunt for suspect, who allegedly raped a 17-year-old girl, on 06 June 2024 at around 09:30 in Jane Furse policing area, under Sekhukhune District.

Police received reports indicating that the victim was on her way to Ga Morena shopping complex, when an unknown silver VW Polo with two occupants approached , the driver requested directions to Jane Furse Hospital. The victim tried to direct them but they pretended that they did not understand her. She was requested to get into the vehicle and go with them to hospital, and they promised to return with her.

She got into the vehicle, and the drivers swapped. While they were about to arrive at the hospital, they deviated to another road. She tried to ask them about the road they took, but they threatened heŕ and instructed her to keep quiet. The driver stopped the vehicle at Mashishing Section, jumped on her, threatened her, and then raped her in the presence of the other male who was at the back sit. Thereafter, they drove with her to the direction of the hospital, where she requested to be dropped off along the way.

They dropped her and quickly drove off. She proceeded to GaMorena shopping complex and reported the incident to her parents. The Police were informed and opened a case of rape. The docket was transferred to Lebowakgomo FCS for further investigation.

Police appeals to anyone with information that can lead to the apprehension of the suspects to contact Investigating Officer Sergeant Magaila Makopo on 076 339 9788 or crime stop number on 08600 10111 or nearest police station or MySAPSApp.

Police investigation is continuing.
