EDUCATOR AND CYCLIST KILLED IN TRAGIC R529 MPHAGANI ACCIDENT

Tragedy struck on the R529 road at Mphagani village, Ka-Dzumeri in Giyani on Thursday afternoon when a minibus lost control and collided with a bicycle, resulting in the deaths of a cyclist and an educator.

The minibus, which was transporting educators from various schools in Ka-Dzumeri to their homes, veered off course and hit a cyclist traveling along the road.

Eyewitnesses reported a chaotic scene as the minibus skidded, unable to regain control, ultimately causing the fatal accident.

Emergency services were promptly dispatched to the scene, where they found the cyclist severely injured. Despite immediate medical intervention, he was declared dead at the scene.

Among the passengers in the minibus, one educator sustained critical injuries. She was rushed to the nearest hospital but, tragically, succumbed to her injuries shortly after arrival. The identities of the deceased have not been released.
