Tragic Accident Claims Lives OF Seven South African Nationals On Return Journey From A Church Service In Botswana

Police in Kanye are investigating a road traffic accident in which seven South African nationals died along A2 Road at Ranaka Junction on 28/04/2024 in the afternoon.

The accident involved two vehicles, a Range Rover with four passengers and a Toyota Hiace Combi with 14 South African citizens on board.

The Seven SA citizens (five females and two males) aged between 37 and 72 were certified dead while the rest of the passengers, four females and three males are admitted to hospital with different injuries.

Four passengers from the other vehicle, being Batswana nationals aged between nine and 39 are also admitted to hospital with serious injuries while drivers of both vehicles escaped with minor injuries

The South Africans had visited Botswana for a church service in Kanye and were on their way back to South Africa when the accident occurred.

Police investigations to establish the cause of the accident are ongoing.
