POLICE ARREST THREE SUSPECTS FEW HOURS AFTER COMMITTING BUSINESS ROBBERY

The police in Malamulele have nabbed three suspects in connection with a business robbery incident that was committed at a local Tuckshop in Xigalo village on Tuesday, 23 April 2024.

Reportedly, three unknown suspects arrived at the shop driving a grey Toyota Corolla motor vehicle.

Police said that the suspects entered the shop and one suspect in possession of a firearm pointed at the shopkeeper and demanded the money.

The suspects managed to rob an undisclosed amount of cash from the shopkeeper and fled the scene driving a grey Toyota Corrolla motor vehicle.

“Following the business robbery, a tactical intelligence-driven operation was activated, resulting in the apprehension of the trio, the same day in the evening while hiding at a house in Malamulele Section C.

During the arrest, the police confiscated an unlicensed firearm with ammunition and a grey Toyota Corrolla motor vehicle that was utilized in the commission of the crime. Moreover, the motor vehicle confiscated was allegedly found hidden at Malamulele Section B2.

The suspects aged between 26 and 33 are expected to appear before the Malamulele Magistrate court today, Thursday, 25 April 2024 facing a charge of business robbery, possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

“Police investigations are continuing”, added Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba.
