The Bolobedu police have launched a manhunt for three suspects involved in a carjacking and armed robbery incident that occurred on Mohlabaneng Road, within the Bolobedu policing area, on Saturday, 09 March 2024, around 23:00.

According to reports, a 39-year-old male victim was driving his white VW Polo TSI with Limpopo registration from a tavern to his residence when he noticed three unidentified African males hitchhiking. He decided to stop and offer them a lift.

Upon entering the vehicle, one of the suspects brandished a firearm, demanding the victim’s car keys and wallet. Subsequently, the suspects forced the victim into the boot of his vehicle and drove to the nearest garage to refuel using his bank card.

After the ordeal, the suspects abandoned the victim at the bushes in Ramaroka village and fled with his vehicle. The victim sought help and promptly reported the incident to the police.

The abandoned vehicle was later discovered at the entrance of Ga-Kgapane Hospital.
