THREE MALE SUSPECTS ARRESTED FOR STOCK THEFT

Three African male suspects between the age of 27 and 52 were arrested during an intelligence-driven operation at Moeding village Dennilton policing area, Sekhukhune District, for stock theft in the early hours of Monday, 26 February 2024.

Members of Marble Hall Stock Theft and Endangered Spices (STES), Marble Hall and Motetema Crime Prevention during a joint operation in Moeding area received information about the suspicious minibus Toyota Quantum with three male occupants suspected to be transporting stolen cattle. They activated the manhunt traced the minibus, and the minibus that fit the description was seen being driven at Leeufontein Road towards Marble Hall. It was stopped and searched.

The suspects admitted to having loaded three cattle at Moeding and offloaded them at Ten Morgan Dennilton (plot), and the cattle were recovered there, identified by the lawful owner, and handed back.

During police interviews, the plot owner denied any knowledge of the stolen cattle on his plot.

The suspects were arrested at the scene.

The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, welcomed the arrest of the suspects of stock theft, and praised the team for their swift response.

The trio will appear before Nebo Magistrate’s court on Wednesday, 28 February 2024 for charges of stock theft.
