34 YEAR-OLD MALE SUSPECT NABBED FOR ALLEGEDLY KILLING AND SET ALIGHT AN ELDERLY WOMAN AT SEPHUKUBJE VILLAGE

The District Commissioner of Mopani District Major General Willy Mashava welcomed the arrested of a 34-year-old African male who is a suspect linked to the case of murder and arson of an elderly woman at Monate Section in Sephukubje in Sekgosese yesterday, Sunday 11 February 2024 at about 07h00.

According to the information received from the Mopani District SAPS communications officer Constable Khomotso Roseline Hlokwe, the police received a Complaint of Murder that took place at Sephukubje Village. Upon arrival, they found the deceased burnt beyond recognition. The deceased was identified by her grandson, Patrick Lebepe.

Hlokwe says the preliminary investigations revealed that the Suspect allegedly murdered the deceased inside her house and later on set the house on fire.

Post Mortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of death. Investigation is continuing,” concluded Constable Khomotso Hlokwe.
