7 LIVES CLAIMED INVOLVING POLICE OFFICERS DUE TO AN ACCIDENT

Limpopo MEC for Transport and Community Safety, Florence Radzilani, is disturbed by the news of an accident that claimed 7 lives on the scene. This accident involves members of the South African Police Service at the R101 next to Tobias, in the early hours of today, Sunday, 11 February 2024, in Waterberg District.

According to reports, a Renault sedan collided head-on with a Toyota light delivery van, which was travelling from Mookgophong towards Mokopane.

5 people from a Renault sedan and two passengers from the SAPS Toyota light delivery van a Police officer and a suspect perished on the scene.

The driver of the South African Police Service vehicle was rushed to hospital and is currently receiving medical attention.

The cause of this horrific accident is still unknown and is currently being investigated.

MEC Radzilani has sent messages of condolences to the bereaved families and wish the driver a speedy recovery.

She has also appealed to road-users to take extra precautions during their trips in order to reduce road fatalities on the Provincial roads.
