A 63-YEAR-OLD MAN SHOT IN KILLED IN THE EARLY HOURS OF THURSDAY

The Police in Thohoyandou are investigating a case of murder, after a 63-year-old male pensioner was fatally shot while sleeping in his house, in Tshitereke Thondoni, in the early hours of Thursday, 18 January 2024.

It is alleged that an unknown man intruded into the house of the pensioner and fired several shots at him before fleeing the scene. The victim had several gunshot wounds all over his body.

Police said that the woman who was in the same room with the old man survived without any injuries. “She immediately summoned the Police. Who upon arrival, together with emergency personnel, they certified the old man dead on the scene. His identity will be released in due course

“Police opened a case of murder for further investigation”, said Colonel Malesela Ledwaba

The Acting Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Major General Jan Scheepers has condemned the attack and instructed a team of investigators to track down the suspects and bring them to book.

“These ruthless killers who target the defenseless should be hunted and be captured to face the full might of the law,” concluded General Scheepers.

“Anyone with information that can lead to the arrest of the suspects should contact the investigating officer Lieutenant Colonel Mphaphuli Ndileni on 082 959 7705 or crime stop number on 08600 10111 or the nearest police station or MySAPS APP.

“The Police investigations are still underway”, added Colonel Ledwaba.
