POLICE IN MAAKE LAUNCH A MASSIVE MANHUNT FOR FOUR ARMED MALE ROBBERY SUSPECTS IN BURGERSDORP

A large-scale manhunt is underway by the Maake police in search of four male armed suspects who were responsible for a robbery committed on Tuesday 07 November 2023 in Burgersdorp village outside Tzaneen in Mopani District.

It is alleged that on Tuesday evening at about 19:45, a 34-year-old female South African citizen from Mhangweni village was driving a white Volkswagen Polo and collecting four male Ethiopian nationals from Burgersdorp.

While stopping at one of the Tuckshops, she was blocked by a blue VW Polo TSI with registration numbers KX88NKGP with four unknown male occupants.

It is alleged that the suspects accosted the four male Ethiopians and robbed them at gunpoint of an undisclosed amount of money and cellphones. They then fled the scene with a blue VW Polo.

Limpopo Police spokesperson Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba said that the police were summoned to the scene, and upon arrival, they discovered that one shot of a rifle was fired without any injuries reported.

The police have immediately launched a manhunt for the suspects of robbery with a firearm.

Anyone with information that can assist in the arrest of the suspects should contact the Investigating Officer Captain Jan Kekana at 082 319 9742 or Crime Stop at 08600 10111. Alternatively, report it to the nearest police station or share it anonymously on MySAPSApp.

“Police investigations are continuing“, said Brigadier Mashaba.
