AN UNKNOWN MAN KILLED DURING MOB ATTACK AT HOMU 14b

The police in Giyani have opened a case of Inquest following the discovery of the body of an unknown man yesterday at Homu 14b next to Nyukani educational centre on Wednesday 25 October 2023.

The Giyani police communication officer, Sergeant Rikhotso says it is alleged that the police were summoned to the scene of crime by the community members who were standing at the scene of crime. Upon police arrival they found community members who pointed the deceased body of African male.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased was seen around Homu 14a village at about 16h00pm together with his unknown friend robbing a grade 12 learners school tablets ,then after they attempt to robbed spaza shop at the same street where they robbed a learner.

The owner of the spaza shop noticed them and alerted the community members, the community member came out in a large number and chase the them.They run to the nearby bushes shooting on air with the firearm but community members never surrendered.

The Community members manage to grab this suspect and brutally assaulted him to death.

They also recovered the firearm that was used by the suspect to shoot at the with empty magazine

The suspect is unknown African male and he was wearing blue jean trouser and black t shirt age can be estimated from 28 to 35 years

Police investigation is underway and the police are requesting the community Members to came forward with information that can assist them to arrest the responsible suspect or with the information that can assist to locate the family of the deceased. contact Warrant officer Minyuku at 0827290327 or crime stop number 0860010111
