FOREIGN SPAZA SHOP OWNER SHOT DEAD AT NDHAMBI VILLAGE OUTSIDE GIYANI

A 34-year-old foreign national male, believed to be a Spaza Shop owner, was shot dead in Ndhambi village, Ka- Dzumeri outside Giyani on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at approximately 20:00.

Limpopo Police Spokesman Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba said that Police were summoned to Nkhensani hospital and upon their arrival, they found a medical practitioner who pointed out that the deceased had sustained gunshot wounds on the upper body, resulting in a sudden death.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the deceased was shot by unknown suspects while walking to his home after closing his Spaza Shop at about 20:00.

Afterwards, the victim called his brother who transported him to a local clinic and was later transferred to Nkhensani hospital where he passed on upon arrival.

The deceased was positively identified as Mubarak Kamal, an Ethiopian national.

The motive for the incident is currently unknown and police investigations are currently underway.

The Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has directed the police to work around the clock to ensure the apprehension of those involved in the senseless killing.
