A 54-YEAR-OLD MAN WAS FATALLY SHOT IN GIYANI

GIYANI: The Police in Giyani have launched a manhunt for unknown suspects believed to be involved in the fatal shooting of a 54-year-old man at Giyani in Mopani District.

Police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba says the Police on Friday 13 October 2023 at approximately 20h50, responded to reports of a shooting at Matshama hi Nkanu Village near to Mageza Complex. Upon arrival, they discovered a male victim who had sustained gunshot wounds. The victim was certified dead on the scene by paramedics.

Preliminary investigations have
revealed the victim was shot by two suspects who then fled the scene.Police also recovered several spent cartridges on the scene.

The motive behind the shooting is still under investigation.

The identity of the deceased will be revealed at a later stage.

The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has appealed to the public to provide any information that may lead to the apprehension of the suspects involved in this incident.
