ETHIOPIAN NATIONAL ROBBED AT GUNPOINT AT KUBJANA

Tzaneen SAPS are investigating a case of robbery after a 27-year-old Ethiopian male was robbed at gunpoint in Kubjana on Wednesday, September 27, 2023.

The victim told police that he closed his spaza shop at approximately 7pm and went to sleep with everything still in order. At approximately 00:50 on Thursday, he heard the sound of his door, breaking and a single gunshot fired outside, he said.

Apparently three unknown men stormed the house he was sleeping in with one of them pointing a firearm at him, demanding the money.

Furthermore, he informed police that he gave him an undisclosed sum of cash that was hidden under the mattress, while the other two ransacked the spaza shop and took packets of cigarettes and a decoder and disappeared into the wilderness.

Sergeant Maurice Nkhwashu, the police spokesman, stated that a case of robbery with a firearm had been opened.
