A 17- YEAR-OLD-GIRL RAPED AND KILLED AT MAVAMBE VILLAGE

MAVAMBE VILLAGE: The Police at Malamulele in Vhembe District have launched a manhunt for the suspect(s) involved in the brutal rape and murder of a 17-year-old girl at Mavambe village.

The body of the victim , was discovered in the bushes behind Mvudi park near Mavambe village on Monday morning, 25 September 2023 at about 02h00.

According to the preliminary report, Police’ were alerted by the community and upon arrival, they found the deceased half naked and she had bruises throughout her body. Seemingly the victim was dragged from the nearby park into the bushes where she was raped and later killed by her attackers. It is also believed that the victim was strangled.

The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police’ Service in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has strongly condemned the incident and ordered the District Commissioner to ensure all the necessary and available resources are mobilized to hunt down suspects.

The manhunt and investigations are still underway.
