LIMPOPO MEC CALLS FOR CALM FOLLOWING THE CONFIRMED FIRST CASE OF MONKEYPOX

Health MEC Dr Phophi Ramathuba has called for calm on the people of Limpopo amidst the confirmed case of Monkeypox in the province.

The first case of monkeypox was confirmed by National Institute of Communacable Diseases (NICD).

Dr Ramathuba says the case confirmed is of a 42-year-old male tourist from Switzerland who is currently on holiday in South Africa.

We are calling on community members not to panic. We are calling for calm. We can confirm that the case is an outpatient, currently isolating and requires no admission “, she said.
