Tiyani Cacious Baloyi a 34-year-old local journalist also known as Tee Cee, he was born and raised in N’wamitwa Village outside Tzaneen.
Tee Cee completed his matric in 2005, but due to poverty at home, he couldn’t manage to further his studies. Instead, he worked in various companies including Security and Protection companies, Call Centre and Retail till he decided to join media in 2011.
In 2011, he worked as Salesman for Miway and Channel for Life. The year 2017 gave him his breakthrough which brought him closer to media, he was elected as one of Vision FM (local radio station) top listener and in some few days Vision FM requested him to motivate its listeners.
After the motivation, Vision FM management offered him an opportunity to work as station security. Since Tee Cee is a hard worker, he took the opportunity and some other time he could work as replacement when there were shortage of staff in the station. He then began to develop love and skills in media and as time goes, he became a presenter.
He committed himself as a presenter and they tried his skills in different departments till he was promoted to become the head in the News department in 2019. Reading news became his favourite hobby and granted him an opportunity to meet and interview top South African Government officials.
“I’d say that I never dreamt of becoming a Journalist, but am happy because God gave me shoes that perfectly fit my legs. My passion is to grow in the media space and take my skills to another level. I also run a page called “Mahungu Na Tee Cee” where I write and share news in Xitsonga apart from working at Vision FM and Writing for N’wamitwa Times. I commit myself to writing news that are not harmful to the society,” Tiyani Cacious Baloyi concludes.
