Getting To Know Khazi Linda Ngobeni Better

Linda Ngobeni, popularly known as ‘Khazi Linda Gay ya ka Joppie’, was born in the dusty streets of Joppie Village under N’wamitwa Traditional Authority outside Tzaneen, Limpopo.

Khazi Linda attended Mavabaza Primary School and completed high school at Sevengwana. He studied Electrical Engineering at Central Johannesburg College (CJC) and later completed Mechanical Engineering at the same institution.

Linda Ngobeni holds a diploma in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. He completed his Electrical Trade at Qualitas Training Centre. He is currently working as a Lead Engineer at Blue Nova Energy while also spearheading his NGO.

In 2023, Khazi Linda began his journey of providing food parcels to those in need in Soweto. With the little he had, he was able to supply 150 households with food parcels every month after the COVID-19 pandemic.

I stopped everything after my mother passed away on the 27th of September 2023. I lost interest in most things because of the pain I was feeling. I was asking myself a lot of questions without answers,” says Linda Ngobeni.

While Khazi Linda was recovering from his loss, he began brainstorming ideas on how to continue giving back to the community and make an impact in other people’s lives. This was re-ignited by his love of helping others after losing his dear mother.

WHO INSPIRES YOU

I draw inspiration from my parents for everything I do today. My mother was a tractor driver and my father was a security officer in the City of Gold [Johannesburg]. They both played a very significant role in my life and that of my siblings.”

I would be happier if the youth of today could show respect to other human beings. As a country, we face challenges regarding issues of GBV; every day brings another story. I hope I can have a positive impact on the youth of Tzaneen, and indeed the whole of South Africa. I want to help people with disabilities,” concludes Linda Ngobeni.

Khazi Linda is currently raising funds to build a five-room house for a woman whose child was se***lly abused by his uncle in New Canada at Mavele Village. The project has touched many lives, and people from various backgrounds have been partnering with Khazi Linda. Donations have been coming from all directions, and very soon, the house will be complete and the beneficiary will move in with her children.

Khazi Linda is doing a great deal for local communities; let us continue supporting his initiative to help improve the lives of the underprivileged.

KHAZI LINDA LINDELANI NGOBENI’S PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY

Helping others does not require a deep pocket, only a generous heart. Whether you are straight or not, this is life; we fight to win, not to lose. Do not allow your background to define you.”
