Nkowankowa Born Melvin Makes Top 10 Of Mr South Africa

Melvin Ndlhovu’s dream of becoming the next Mr South Africa is one step closer after he was named a top 10 finalist.

The announcement was made during a glamorous event at the Indaba Hotel, Spa and Conference Centre in Fourways on Saturday, August 19. The Nkowankowa and bred Mel, as he is also known, told the Herald that he is over the moon with this achievement, considering that there was a total of 59 men gunning for the top 10 positions. He is an advocate for the empowerment of the boy-child.

He helps young men with issues such as mental and emotional wellbeing, gender equality, positive masculinity, the importance of physical health and wellness, and digital literacy amongst other issues.

“I aim to tell boys that they too matter. I believe that boys have a huge role to play in all spheres of life; but without people who believe and motivate them, we can end up losing them to drugs and criminality,” he said.

He will be working with his sponsors to make an impact, particularly in a boy-child’s life. He has appealed to potential sponsors to join him in the cause.
