Joppie Village born Ntwanano Ngobeni Cycling over 400km for Charity





Ntwanano Ngobeni, a local cyclist and philanthropist, born and bred in the dusty streets of Joppie Village is invading Tzaneen with his Cycling crew.

The son of the soil will be Cycling 427km from Pretoria to Tzaneen in a bid to raise funds for the disadvantaged communities around the countryside of N’wamitwa. This year, he will be donating 21 Wheelchairs, 10 walking sticks and 8 walking frames to Joppie Disability Centre.

Mlambya, as he is popularly addressed will also be donating groceries to various families in the village and he has partnered with the Department of Health who will be donating Sanitary pads to the women of Joppie Village.

“After learning about the challenges that people living with Disabilities face, I felt the need to step up and do something about it.

“Some of these people are stuck in their houses because of lack of Wheelchairs. They are also unable to visit the local Disability centres because of their immobility. We are hoping that the donations will make their lives easier”, he explained

Mlambya will be joined by fellow Cyclists from Gauteng, Mokopane, Polokwane, Louis Tritchardt and Tzaneen. The first leg of the trip will commence on Friday 23 April in Pretoria to Mokopane.

The next day they will Cycle from the pit stop to Tzaneen. On Sunday they will leave Tzaneen town and Cycle to the dusty streets of Joppie Village where the hand over will take place.

Along the route to Tzaneen, they will be picking up runners who will be taking part of the journey. Mr Solly “Makamaka” Nkuna, a Joppie Village born Comrade Marathon Runner will be leading the runners all the way to a place called “Timugenini” – Joppie Village.

Ntwanano Ngobeni is calling on Cyclists and runners to join him at the venue. He has also urged residents to donate whatever they can.
