Covid-19 has turned the world upside down, the matriculants of 2020 are set to receive their results on Tuesday 23rd of February. The Department released a statement saying that wearing of a face mask is compulsory to learners and teachers.

The spokesperson of the Department of Education in Western Cape Bronagh Hammond said that they will communicate with students on how they gonna get their results safely.

The practice of social distancing will also occur and parents are urged not to accompany their children to schools when the results are out.

Branagh Hammond mentioned that learners will have to go through screening and hand sanitizing before they could recieve their results and the procedure for getting their results will be implemented by schools and remember that covid-19 protocols allows 50 people indoors and 100 outdoor public gatherings.




Furthermore, covid-19 regulations have to be followed by schools and the spokesperson said that parents should never go to schools because public gatherings are restricted only Learners will be allowed in school premises.

Elijah Mhlanga spokesperson of the Department of Basic Education strictly said that nobody will be allowed to enter school premises without facemask even teachers, he said that the safety of teachers and learners is their first priority and they are looking forward to release the results on time and media platforms and SABC will broadcast live.
